⭐Mini Update #3⭐





Hey and welcome back to another mini update! Let's jump into the new stuff!


Sprucin' Up the Circus

Do you remember the bouncy ball from the test demo? The one that lets you fly up to where Sandman's Shop is? I was running into some issues with it. Sometimes it would bounce me up, other times ... not so much. I'd just sit there. So I reworked the ball completely so that you'll always bounce when you run or jump into no matter which direction you're facing--and your character and the ball will animate when bouncing, too!

I also added some new transitions and transition sound effects when entering or exiting certain areas. One place where you'll see the new addition is Sandman's Shop. Can you recognize the shadowy shapes? ^^ The sound effect is really cute -- I want Sandman to be as annoyingly adorable to players as possible!

 Speaking of Sandman, I've been working on sprucing up the shop a bit. I put a few posters indoors and moved Sandman behind his very own counter! His "buy box" will still make an appearance in other parts of the game. I figured when he's in the store, it's a "little" more practical to have a counter to sit behind instead of a box.


The Midnight Circus stage has plenty of fun (and perilous) ways to get around. Hurtling out of a fiery cannon is just one them. Jump in and watch Apollo and Moira take off towards the sky! 

Did you notice that Apollo and Moira look a little different in these gifs? That's because their sprites got a recent update to better match their bust style.



Some more fun news: I'm entering the IGMC game jam this year!  The game jam lasts until the first week of August, so I'm going to put development of Dreamtrotter on hold and then jump right back into it after this gets finished up.
